Rosario Dawson
Rosario is an internationally renowned actor and activist who deeply believes in galvanizing and enfranchising American Latinos to promote a stronger America. Both Newsweek and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation are among the institutions that have recognized her for her tireless work with Voto Latino. She has participated in several roundtable discussions as it relates to Latino health, culture and civic participation at the White House. Rosario's leadership, commitment and vision has brought on board A-list celebrities who include Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez, Common, Wilmer Valderrama and Pitbull.
Creative Director
As an art student he interned as a motion and web designer at LATV, a bilingual music and entertainment network. He went on to work at SiTV (now Nuvo TV), a leading cable channel for bicultural Latinos, where he helped develop branding campaigns for reality shows including Jammin', Model Latina, and the Crash the Parties political reporting contest. In 2008 he officially joined Voto Latino in Washington DC. He has overseen the design of Voto Latino's award winning initiatives for the past four years. His work has garnered multiple awards and recognitions. Steve also continues to contribute as an independent artist; in 2008 he displayed his work at the Manifest HOPE exhibit held before the inauguration of President Barack Obama, and in 2011, GOOD Magazine, the Harvard Journal of Hispanic Policy and the Washington Post highlighted his work.

VP – Digital/Online
Pamela is charged with overseeing Voto Latino's award winning digital team. Her background spans over 12 years of solid experience in the digital space and managing corporate brand marketing. Her experience ranges from integrated marketing and branding to contesting and video production. Pamela was most recently the Creative Director at Sí TV where she worked on campaigns that appeared on-air, online and on the ground. Under her leadership SiTV and Voto Latino co-created Crash the Parties that led to several best in marketing recognitions including a Webby Award Honoree, NAMIC Award and a Promax title.
Senior Developer
Mayra is a senior developer with over 10 years of experience developing award-winning digital platforms, including id Software's action-packed video game site and, a user-generated contest that gave two aspiring journalist the opportunity to cover the 2008 Democratic and Republican National Conventions. At Voto Latino, Mayra leads the development of technology that enables Latino youth to become educated online activists in the civic engagement space. Prior to working at Voto Latino, Mayra developed sites for Sony Entertainment, Warner Bros., Bethesda Games, Syfy, CBS College Sports and Playstation. She was also featured in the Washington Post for creating a digital yearbook while still in high school.
Development Director
A published expert in the field of economic and community development with 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, currently focusing her energies in the areas of civic participation and engagement. Past experience has involved organizations and entities that focus on Hispanic, women's, and economic development issues. Her work has helped organizations grow by creating strategic partnerships and innovative programming. A graduate of Princeton University with a masters degree in public administration, she currently resides in New Jersey with her husband and 2 children.
Special Projects Associate
Born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, Andrea graduated with a BFA in Intercultural and Organizational Communication from Valdosta State University. Andrea coordinates and manages Voto Latino's signature events such as the inaugural Power Summit and On Series forum, as well as special projects including political convention events and celebrity coalition campaign programs. As part of the development team, she supports Voto Latino’s partnership efforts with corporations, media and non-profit organizations.
Maria Teresa Kumar
Named by PODER Magazine as one of the most notable 20 US Hispanics under 40 years old, Maria Teresa Kumar is the founding Executive Director of Voto Latino. Under her leadership, Maria Teresa grounded the organization in technology developing the first voter registration via text message in 2006. She has grown the organization from a voter registration outlet to the leading social media, online community with over 15 media partners, 120 bloggers, 20 national partners and a field operation in seven states which have registered over 120,000 voters. She has leveraged over $16 million in gratis air-time and technology since the organization's founding. Maria Teresa created and directed Voto Latinos' civic engagement campaigns, all of which have garnered awards and praise from both the public and private sectors. Featured in HBO's Celebrity Habla, Maria Teresa most recently negotiated, co-produced and hosted the first English language, prime-time townhall with MSNBC called "Beyond Borderlines: Latinos & Immigration".
Celebrity Liaison
Josh handles fund development and investor relations for Voto Latino. Josh's background is in marketing and business development; he holds over 13 years of experience in bilingual youth marketing and media matters. During the 2008 election season, he oversaw Voto Latino's national media and PSA campaigns, and managed the organization's "Latin Swing State" strategy. Prior to joining Voto Latino, he was the Vice President of Nacional Records, where he oversaw all media, marketing and licensing for multiple Grammy-winning Latin recording artists.
Marketing and Partnerships Director
Jessica is a marketing and advertising specialist with experience in the General and Hispanic Markets. She has helped build award winning digital and social media campaigns for Kraft, Twix, Domino's and other multinational corporations. At Voto Latino, she works with the development team as the Marketing and Partnerships Manager and is charged with identifying and creating meaningful programs with our media, corporate, and nonprofit partners.
Field Representative
Viva is the Director of the Arizona Montessori Association, and a Voto Latino representative and contributing blogger who resides in Phoenix, Arizona. His blogs provide an insider perspective from ground zero of the heated Immigration debate and the daily battles many American Latino families face for their basic civil rights.
Chief of Staff
A native of Chicago and graduate of Marquett University, Adrian Garcia currently serves as Voto Latino's Chief of Staff. After graduating with a degree in Criminology & Law Studies as well as Social Welfare & Justice , Adrian was a summer fellow for Organizing for America, focusing on health care reform. Upon completion of this fellowship, Adrian worked for former U.S. Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, then for the Senator's re-election campaign, focusing on Latino outreach across the State of Wisconsin. In his current role as Voto Latino's Chief of Staff, Adrian works closely with the President, Maria Teresa Kumar, and provides support for the rest of the team. Additional responsibilities include serving as the liaison for VL's artist coalition and Board of Directors.
VP - Development
Michelle Minguez currently serves as Vice President of Development spearheading strategic development, corporate and non-profit partnerships, philanthropic outreach and fundraising. She also leads the Voto Latino Action Fund fundraising operations. Previously, Michelle served six years as the Executive Director of the Latino Leaders Network (LLN), and was the Vice President of Business Development to the Ibarra Strategy Group, a leading government relations and public affairs firm based in Washington, DC. Michelle’s extensive political experience was gained from serving as Assistant to the Director of the President's Initiative for One America at the White House during the Clinton administration. Prior to that, Michelle was a Policy Analyst for the United States Department of Labor. Michelle is a member of the Latino Leaders Network and National Hispana Leadership Institute Board of Directors, National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy Latino Advisory Board and the Harvard Kennedy School Latino Leadership Initiative Advisory Board. Michelle received her Master's of Education Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University, Masters in Public Policy from American University and a Political Science Bachelor of Arts from Boston University.
New Media Associate
Karina serves as Voto Latino's New Media associate and utilizes her producing and video editing skills to fulfill VL's mission. She is also in charge of keeping VL's social media up-to-date by delivering timely content to our community and encouraging them to participate in the political process. Prior to joining the VL team, Karina interned for Latino Leaders Network, assisting the Special Projects Coordinator and at the City of Anaheim in their Video Operations department. Karina graduated from California State University of Fullerton with a BA in Communications and Spanish.
