The World Cup and Change: 5 organizations to follow!

In anticipation of the World Cup, we’ve put together a list of organizations who are making an impact with soccer and communities!

MLS W.O.R.K.S. – MLS’ community outreach initiative dedicated to addressing important social issues affecting young people and serves as a platform for League and club philanthropic programs.

U.S. Soccer Foundation – The U.S. Soccer Foundation seeks to improve the health and well-being of children in urban economically disadvantaged areas using soccer as a vehicle for social change. By supporting the development of Places to Play, Places to Grow and Places to Learn, we work to ensure that children in underserved communities have easy and affordable access to quality soccer programs that support their physical and personal development.

1 Goal – Education for All and call on world leaders to provide education for 72 million children worldwide by 2015.

Nothing but Nets – Nothing But Nets is a global, grassroots campaign to raise awareness and funding to combat malaria, one of the largest killers of children in Africa. With a $10 contribution, Nothing But Nets provides individuals – from CEOs to youth, professional athletes to faith leaders – the opportunity to join the global fight against malaria by sending a net and saving a life.

Love Futbol – Develops simple, safe soccer fields for children in impoverished communities worldwide.
