Actress America Ferrera is joining Voto Latino, the leading non-partisan national youth empowerment organization whose civic engagement campaigns have reached an estimated 55 million Latino households nationwide, for a new media, grassroots and online campaign entitled “America4America.” Ferrera and Voto Latino held a Press Conference on Thursday May 31st, in Washington D.C. to announce the campaign, which aims to reach people across the country using video, graphics and other online elements to engage in conversations with the actress about important issues such as voter id laws, education, and immigration. Voto Latino partner organizations will also share their plans to mobilize voters in order to highlight the diverse efforts of our communities. Ferrera will be the face of the campaign and serve as ambassador in an effort to inform more young people about the issues of the upcoming 2012 election. America4America will focus on the positive impact that voting will have on supporters’ community members’ lives.
