On Wednesday, February 3rd, Wilmer Valderrama joined Congressman Xavier Becerra along with Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.), Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.), Judy Chu (D-Calif.) and Mike Honda (D-Calif.) to formally launch the Be Counted, Represent Campaign.
During the press conference, Valderrama highlighted the campaign’s innovative use of census-themed PSAs, iTunes cards, and a soon-to-be-available mobile application.
While surrounded by so many politicians, Valderrama joked that he didn’t know if he’d ever consider running for office, but stated that, “I definitely want to be part of the big picture.”
“You’ll see me a lot more around [DC],” he concluded.
Maria Teresa Kumar, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Voto Latino, was also on hand for the press briefing in the Rayburn building. She introduced our Be Counted campaign partners, which include MALDEF, LULAC, Rock the Vote, and the United States Student Association.
